Chai Tea

Welcome to the world of Chai, if you have never had a Chai Tea then you are in for one special treat. Chai (pronounced as a single syllable and rhymes with 'pie') IS tea in many parts of the world. It is a centuries-old beverage that has played an important role in many cultures.

Chai from India is a spiced milk tea that has become increasingly more popular. Normally Chai Tea is made up of:
• rich black tea
• heavy milk
• a combination of various spices
• a sweetener
The spices that are used to create a wonderful cup of Chai,  vary from region to region and among households in India. The most common of the spices used are cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and pepper. Indian chai is known for creating a tea that is warming, soothing, and has been known to act as a natural digestive aid and gives the tea drinker a wonderful sense of well being. It's difficult to resist a second cup.
